These terms govern your use of IEP Navigator. By creating an account or using the app, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What IEP Navigator is

IEP Navigator is an organizational and informational tool for parents and guardians managing their child's special education process. It helps you store documents, track deadlines, and understand your rights, and on a paid plan, offers AI-assisted tools like drafting letters or summarizing documents. It is not legal, medical, or professional advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client or advisory relationship. For anything specific to your child's situation, talk with your child's IEP team, your state's parent training and information center, or a special education attorney or advocate.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent, legal guardian, or otherwise authorized representative of the child whose information you enter, to create an account and use IEP Navigator.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know right away if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

Subscriptions and billing

IEP Navigator offers a free tier and a paid tier. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe at the price shown at checkout, and can be managed or canceled at any time from your account's billing page. Canceling stops future billing; it doesn't retroactively refund amounts already charged unless we say otherwise in a specific case.

Acceptable use

Please use IEP Navigator only for its intended purpose -- managing your own child's (or a child you're legally responsible for) special education records. Don't use it to store or submit information about someone else's child without authorization, to attempt to access another user's account, or to interfere with the app's normal operation.

Content you provide

You retain ownership of the documents and information you upload or enter. You're granting IEP Navigator only the limited right to store, process, and display that content back to you as part of running the app's features -- including sending relevant text to Anthropic's API when you use an AI-assisted feature, as described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty

IEP Navigator is provided "as is." We work to keep the information in the app (deadlines, rights guides, and similar content) accurate and current, but special education law varies by state and changes over time, and we can't guarantee the app is free of errors or that it covers every situation. You're responsible for verifying anything important against your child's actual IEP team, school district, or a qualified professional.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, IEP Navigator and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing here is meant to limit liability in ways that aren't legally permitted.

Ending your account

You can stop using IEP Navigator and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may also suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict of law principles.
